Our Story

Truro Treasures began in 1992 when several community members, most notably Betty Groom and Boo Houstoun, envisioned a fall weekend for children and adults to raise money to help save the Highland Lighthouse and to promote community pride and interest in Truro.

Since 2025, Truro Treasures has been a program of the Truro Chamber of Commerce. 

While no longer a non-profit organization, the spirit of the weekend
and the events that make Truro so special continue on. 

Business members of the Chamber have worked with our community partners to enhance existing programs
and develop new events.
